Producer, engineer, mixing engineer, mastering: All things I do at my analogue recording studio.
Here's some pictures of the gear I like to use, and below there's some projects that I worked on.
Yes, I own two Tascam 388s. Come and record with me!
wow such a cool Tascam 388
Look at this compressor
very old mics full of character
weird instruments for new inspiration
The Coo recorded their first full length debut album with me on my Tascam 388. I engineered all the tracks, co-produced and arranged the tracks with The Coo and played drums on them. Have a listen!
A DIFFERENT LIFE
They recorded a big chunk of their album BLEEP with me - I brought my Tascam to their studio, engineered and recorded, and then mixed it together with producer/bassplayer Ivo.
Nina recorded her debut EP with me. I worked with her on her songs, played guitar, bass & drums, recorded, engineered and mixed all of it.
Bram had a very sepcific idea for all of his songs, but came to me for my process - I work on tape so I care about the energy and life in each take, and I don't like to over-edit. I added some instrumental ideas and recorded his songs on my Tascam. He mixed and mastered with Rufus van Baardwijk.

Working with Sean is awesome, quite simply. He made us feel so comfortable in his studio and had such an intuitive ear for where the magic was. His in depth knowledge of his collection of gear and ‘audio treasures’ also makes for a completely unique environment for sonic adventure and inspiration. He’s also just a lovely guy to be around. The man is a legend! - The Coo
It didn’t feel like a lot of effort at the time but people still ask me how I got the drums to sound that good. Sean is a good option if you want that perfect sound, but you don’t want to spend a long time searching for it.
"Working with Sean is not only a fun endeavour but also a masterclass on how to use limitations when recording music. When you record with Sean it’s all about capturing the essence of a song, and allowing the utmost nerve to shine through. A process backed up by his use of old analog tape recorders (the legendary Tascam 388) and second-hand instruments, which all bring an incredible warmth to the overall experience.
Recording our album “Bleep” with him helped us capture the raw energy of our band, and forced us to trust the energy of our musical performance. Sean is always there with small little suggestions and hints on what can be done better, and he never shies away from offering his own musical talents on drums, percussion or backing vocals. Everything is delivered with a cheeky smile and a light-hearted (yet dark) sense of humor."
I had never worked with a music producer before meeting Sean and recording my first album at his studio. This experience has completely changed my view on making music and needless to say that Sean is the whole reason for it. To each song, he brought a different spark and seemed to know exactly what it needed. For this he would also find the right instrument and layer to add on thanks to all the very special gear that he equipped his studio with. He has an instrument for every sound, from a Suzuki harp to diverse xylophones, moog keyboard, piano, funky pedals and guitars, that he all picked with the greatest care and his music-lover expertise. As a result from our sessions together, he turned 11 demos into actual songs, which exceeded by far the expectations I had set for them. Sean gave them a life! In addition to being an incredible musician who will come up in 5minutes with a legendary guitar riff after having also recorded bass and drums, Sean is an incredibly kind, funny and generous person. I feel extremely lucky to have crossed his path and made a friend. And after the album production ended, I had the best reason to write as many new songs as I could, to come back to his studio as soon as possible.
